Spinning Wheel

You ever watched a guinea pig or hamster running around in their wheel? All they do is get in and run, but they're not going anywhere. They are exerting all this energy and for what? Where are they going? The wheel is stationary and there is no where to go but still the animal gets in and runs. Well work has felt like that this past week. I got a trainee and not much of a direction of where exactly I'm supposed go with this person other than that we're the guinea pig of the "new" program. I felt like that hamster or guinea pig in a cage, running on a wheel that goes nowhere, exerting all this energy and brain power. But today I got some form of direction...at last!

It wasn't much but it gave me enough direction...for now. This reminds me of how we sometimes act with God' s plan. Can you imagine the Israelites wandering around the desert for forty years when the 'Land of Promise' was so close? There must have been times when they felt like they were in a hamster wheel, walking around in circles around that desert. But God gave them direction it just wasn't all at once, I guess that is what all those verses about the camp moving from one spot to the other was about. I used to think that sometimes those parts of the Bible just seemed to pointless. Why did God include this in His Word? What was their importance? But there are days in our life when it just seems like we are going from one place to another without much direction other than knowing you are to continue with living life TODAY. And lately that is what I've been feeling, but like Dr. Panosian used to tell us before a History of Civ. Test "this too shall pass". And perhaps around the next corner will be an adventure, a new found friend or time with an old friend...the possibilites are endless!
